My husband and I are planning a honeymoon (finally).
We've decided to go to Mexico with one of our couple friends that don't have any kids. The guys came up with this brilliant idea a few months ago and we're finally getting into the planning stage.
It's February 12, and they want to be gone the week of March 21. We have nothing set in stone except that we're going to Mexico.
I contacted a travel agent. Now, a travel agent is the last thing that I would consider a good investment. But my hairdresser recommended this woman that I've known a long time, but I didn't realize she was a travel agent on the side. She charges $25 per person for booking vacations.
The four of us travelers decided on Mexico, decided on all-inclusive resorts to take any guesswork out of it, and decided we'd prefer to avoid the spring break crowds.
We got together and looked at a few different destinations and narrowed it down to 4 resorts that looked to be up to our expectations.
I gave the agent our 4 resorts and let her go hog-wild comparing prices. She just sent us the quotes and I honestly am quite disappointed. What she's sent us I found myself on Travelocity.com. I believe I found better prices than what she found, and more direct flights at that. Am I better off doing it myself? Or should I trust in her experience and let her book it?
